DENVER BISCUITS

1 quart scalded milk
1 cup Crisco
1/2 cup sugar or 1/2 cup honey
2 packages yeast
4 cups wheat flour

Cream Crisco and sugar.  Add milk and flour to make cake dough.  Make sure it is cool enough then add yeast.  Let rise 2 hours in a big pan.

Next dissolve and add:

Dissolve in 1/2 cup warm water.  2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt.
Add enough flour to make a stiff dough...about 5 or 6 cups white flour.  Roll out and cut like biscuits.  Place on cookie sheets covered with parchment paper and freeze.  After frozen, place in plastic bag.  Take out 1 to 1 1/2 hours before baking.  Makes 50 to 80 biscuits.
