New Tiles

Lovely, cloudy morning....the clouds sure  help keep things a little cooler, but they will not hang around to long this morning.

I opened the kiln and took out the new batch of tiles...the temp was 160 degrees.  That is pretty good since I did not finish cooking until 7 last night.  Anyway, I was able to take them out with a little help of one rubber glove and a piece of paper towel....yes, I need to get some little hot pads.  The kiln shelves are so tight that when I put my hand down to pick them up, I can't have much in my hand...so paper towels it is.

I was happy with some new ideas that I had.  It is more of a water color look.  I think I will work on that more. I have always wanted to do water colors, but I have a heavy hand.  And once it is on the paper, it can not be changed very much.  But with the tiles, I can just wipe it off and start over...I am excited to try some more.

I will post some pictures later.  Right now I have to get crackin ...potluck today...and I need to finish that up.
