THE NEED TO DEADHEAD

Pincushion flower A bloom on the way out
This plant has bloomed all winter--in North Dakota, it would die back to the ground, but not in Texas.  It is a go getter when it comes to blooms.  The down side?  Deadheading or taking all the dead blooms off.  That keeps it going.  Love the color, so I will keep deadheading so it will keep blooming.

After the flower
Before the flower

 Many, many blooms

Sorry the pictures are fuzzy...I always try to get
to close.
