Today is dawning clear and bright--I guess that means no more rain for awhile. The deer are out in the
field, at the front of the porch, waiting for someone to come feed. They have begun browsing on the ripe persimmons. I am glad we have left the persimmons for the deer. They just didn't "have" it to make into a tasty jam. But I think that is why there are so many persimmon trees on this place..food for the wildlife. While out yesterday, I noticed that the acorns were beginning to fall. Another good food source for the deer.
I made two jars of pear preserves yesterday/last night. Today I am going to put it in the crock pot and let it cook down. Then I will put on the stove if I need to bring it up to 216 degrees. Otherwise, I will have to watch it and stir often so it won't stick. There are so many more fun things to do besides stir a watched pot. So goes the saying...a watched pot never boils.
So for the tile of the day:
This is an earlier tile, but the Bible verse seems to fit this time of the year.
I hope you do not have too much work with your pears! I bet they taste good though! AC
