Goop

Well, it’s removing something..haha goop is suppose to remove 6 layers.  Hmmm may take another application, or two.  I have thought about doing this for a long time.  I gues the time has arrived.

To strip or not

Test spot to see if the varnish will come off like the bottle says.  To strip or not?

The oak side table

Where does time go?

Already it is the last part of June 2019.  I have made some changes in my life.  Some I didn’t plan on making, but they are turning out okay.

I moved and bought a house.  I am enjoying the house, not to big and not to small.  Just right, if I don’t collect to much junk.  So easy to do.

My new project is a solid 1980’s oak side table.  I bought a small sander that just works great and have started sanding the top.  So now I have to decide whether to paint the top or stain the top.  I also have another side table, but it is a different kind and color, so I think I’m going to paint them both so they will at least be the same color.  I know some projects will be okay and some will be....what was I thinking? 😣

Let the fun begin.

2019

Well so many changes, for the better I think.  Just didn’t want to make them.  The hibiscus are still alive in the back yard.  I have zinnias coming up from seeds, yes it will take longer, but there is just something about planting a seed.

Here it is already the end of May!  I start teaching the 4 and 5 year olds in Bible class.  I am excited about that. It has been a long time since I have been settled enough to teach a class.

I moved a few things down.  Now I need to decide where everything should go.  Sewing, painting, and tiles...oh and cards too.  How’s the best way?  I’m sure I’ll change a few times.

This is My Day

Changes, changes, changes.  I wanted to make a pecan pie on Saturday, the recipe that Me Maw made.  I was sure it was on my blog!  Looked and looked but could not find it.  What I did fine were lots of memories and tiles.  So yesterday I decided I would accomplish something!  So many tile verses that gave me a boost at getting started.

2018

Can't believe all the changes that have taken place since 2016.  Many changes that I like and many that I don't like, but that is the way life of life.

I am still painting tiles, but have also moved into cards and 2x2 fridge magnets.  They are fun to do.

Home grown sweet potatoes

Today is the day I am eating my garden fresh sweet potatoes..I can not believe how good they are.  In fact, I am already planning next year crop.  I saw a recipe on Pinterest for tots.  Well, do I ever leave a recipe alone.  No! What fun is that?

First I baked my little potatoes then let them cool.  That didn't take long because mine weren't that big.  After they cooled I pealed the skin off and gave them a mash with a fork.  I also tasted..they were so good, but I had in mind tots.

Next step...instead of flour...what to use as glue?  I know! Oatmeal soften in water! In it goes along with garlic power and season salt.  Formed into ball and roll in Panko bread crumbs.

As I write, I am waiting for them to toast a little.  Can't wait to try.
