SWEET AND TANGY B-B-Q
SAUCE
1 20 oz.BOTTLE OF KETCHUP
3 TABLESPOON FINELY CHOPPED ONION
1 1/2 TABLESPOONS OIL
1 TEASPOON MUSTARD
2 TEASPOON CIDER VINEGAR
2 ½ TABLESPOONS CHILI POWDER
RED PEPPER FLAKES IF DESIRED – MAY
LEAVE OUT OR ADD AS MUCH AS YOU LIKE FOR HEAT
DASH OF GARLIC SALT
1/8 TEASPOON COURSE PEPPER
1 ½ TO 2 CUPS BROWN SUGAR
SAUTE ONIONS IN OIL UNTIL
TENDER. ADD KETCHUP, MUSTARD, VINEGAR,
CHILI POWDER, RED PEPPER FLAKES, GARLIC SALT, PEPPER.
SIMMER FOR 15 MINUTES THEN ADD
BROWN SUGAR. STIR WELL AND SIMMER ON VERY LOW HEAT FOR 20 MORE MINUTES.
Can use larger bottle of ketchup,
just add more ingredients. The amounts
are just for reference Use more or less according to your taste. I have never really measured things out…just
taste and add.
COOL AND STORE IN REFRIGERATE.
