BEAN FLOUR

Well, this is interesting...I saw on Pinterest that a lady has been making and using bean flour...a way to thicken soup and to make other dishes.  Now, I don't have a flour mill...so how to do it.

I got out my food processor.  Yes, it worked pretty good. I just pulsed a small about and came out with some flour and some very small chunks of beans.  Those, I think, will dissolve with cooking. I am ready to try as a thickening agent for whatever need thickening.  Better than flour?  Could be.  I have get to give it a try.

  1. Interesting thought. I don't think the beans will dissolve, but you could put them through a strainer and get the bigger chunks out. Did she use it because she is gluten free or something? I'm interested to know how it turns out and if it tastes like beans!

    1. I did a Pinterest search on Bean flour. There are many recipes using the flour--would be interesting to try some of them.
