I was reading this morning about making yellow mustard and remembered that I had a Hot Mustard recipe that I use instead of buying a big jar of Chinese Hot Mustard. This is called a dipping sauce, but as I remember, it is kind of thick...and Hot.
Mustard Dipping Sauce
1/4 cup dry mustard
2 Tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 egg
1/2 cup salad dressing
Combine first 4 ingredients. Cook over low heat until thick. Chill and then stir into dressing. Now if you want to adjust how hot it is...just use more or less salad dressing. I may have even used less dry mustard ...it is hot. I have not made it in a long time since we are now enjoying sweet and sour sauce. That is also very easy to make to serve fresh with a Chinese meal.
Boy--you are just making everything now!!! I guess that is a result of off the highway! You were a great cook before, but even better now! AC
