A new project! I have been admiring the Texas Purple Sage that seems to bloom after a rain. The dear deer may not eat them down to the nubs...but that is to be seen. Yes, I know I can fence things, but that just seems to defeat the "look" that I want.
Well, the first place I checked, Lowe's, had 5 left and they were being marked down to half price. Yea! How can you beat that? Now that it is cooler weather they should like that. I am expecting great things from them this fall. Now, where to plant them? Right in front of the house, or out on the "range"? I vote for out on the "range"...that way I can see their blooms from my windows. http://www.statesymbolsusa.org/Texas/shrubPurpleSage.html
I think they will add some interest to the landscape palette. Oh well, just as long as they live and bloom...that is all I ask from them. Besides, since there are no native plants living in the area, I may be just introducing a new "veggie" to the deer. They do need to eat their veggies. I can't blame the deer since I am the one that moved into their domain.
Looking forward to seeing your plants!! AC
