There are many colors of blue and aqua, but finding just the right shade can be a challenge...and frustrating. Yes, I like aqua, but not every aqua. It depends on how it is used and what colors are with it.
So when I was visiting my daughter, we went to the local fabric store, just to look, and there it was. The right shade, the right mixture of colors. But, I should not buy fabric just to buy fabric...I should have something in mind to make. Should, should, oh well, when it comes to fabric that you like, having it on hand for later use is a must. But how much should I buy? The whole bolt? No, I can't do that. Place mats! We could make them while I was visiting!. Ok, but something very easy and fast...no thinking involved...A plan and purpose for the "right" shade of aqua is now in motion.
Thanks to my daughter, she cut out enough for 4 tops and I sewed. First, we completed one just to make sure it looked right. We had to decide how big we wanted them and how wide the side strips should be. She had a store bought mat to use as a guide...so we were off and sewing. One was finished and I was happy with the way it looked. I brought the others home to finish. And guess what?? I think I will have some fabric left after I finish cutting out the rest. Starting a new stash.
REally pretty material!!! AC
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can make some napkins and coasters with the leftover fabric, or a table runner! They look great. Such pretty fabric. Love you!
